Bloody Valentine Cocktail

Happy Valentines Day! Galentines Day! Love yourself day!…or whatever celebration of love you may be celebrating today! No matter who you’re loving on today, love with your whole heart and show them, or yourself, how much they matter. Even if you think today is super cheesy isn’t that all part of the fun of it?! Valentines Day is such a kitschy holiday all covered in red and pink ♥s, mushy love notes, flowers, chocolates, stuffed animals, romantic gestures, dinner dates and fancy cocktails.

If there’s one Valentine’s Day act you’re going to partake in let it be a fancy cocktail and shake yourself up this Bloody Valentine Cocktail. Pun intended – this cocktail is a combination of fresh blood orange juice, tart lemon juice, St-Germain liqueur and vodka. The blood orange juice gives it the deep pink hue and citrus flavor to complement the tropical and floral Elderflower liqueur. Also, if you’re in need of an easy gift for your Valentine – a bottle of St-Germain and some coupe glasses would be perfect…plus you’d be halfway to making these lovely cocktails! There could be no better Valentines Day cocktail than this – I know Cupid would approve#hearteyes Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetAnytime we’re going on a date and I’m trying to pick a restaurant I always try to pick one with fancy cocktails and this would be one I’d order. It’s so simple to make at home though – now any night can be a fancy date night even if we’re enjoying it at home. 🙂

I know I’ll be enjoying one of these Bloody Valentines while Eric and I have a nice little night at home making dinner, watching a movie together and most likely having giant milkshakes to end the night- I got a new blender and we’ve been blending it up! More on that soon. Also, I got him a surprise gift even thought we said no gifts and I know he’s going to be so excited, even though it’s kind of a funny gift! (Eric if you’re reading this – quit trying to guess what it is! love you boo 😉 )
