Palouse Falls

Thought I’d finally share some pictures from our adventure to Palouse Falls, WA over 4th of July weekend. This was the first summer since we’ve lived in Idaho where we spent the 4th of July weekend right here at home. We both had the 4th off and wanted to go adventure somewhere for the day. We drove about 2 hours to the falls, to a very dry and dusty part of the Palouse. We didn’t know what to expect but we were surprised to see the falls were running hard and it was a gorgeous view once you got to the edge. Since we’d never been there, we asked a ranger where the trails were and she told us if we wanted to hike anywhere off this small dry trail where you couldn’t even see the water, you’d have to make your own “social trail” which sounded a little sketchy. So we hiked around and found a way down to the backside of the falls to a river where we hung out and Eric may or may not have stepped in a pool of leeches (ha so gross!). It was super hot that day and we were about to call it quits but we decided to hike to the top of the waterfall along another one of those sketchy social trails and it was so worth it. It was a beautiful view, and we even crawled (it was soo windy) out to the edge to see the water falling. It was a blast to be out adventuring together and was another good day added to our awesome summer. ok great, thanks for the confidencenext time we’re figuring out how to swim in that pool, i don’t care how many rocky cliff we have to tackle watch your step or fall 300 feet, no big deal…my favorite picture of Eric from this summer! Our summer has officially come to an end with fall camp heading into its second week. I can’t believe the season is less than a month away! Go Vandals! I’ll be day dreaming about good days like this while EB’s busy working 24/7. Happy adventuring!
